I am a senior design engineer for a small data acqisition company that makes tools for the transportation and aerospace industry. I'm also a PhD student of Geophysics at Michigan State University and I am studying how seismic energy propogates through the crustal structures of Eastern Siberia in order to help improve the whole-earth model which is used to discriminate natural from man-made seismic events. I'm going to be teaching labs for introductory science classes in the fall, then I'll move into teaching intermediate global plate tectonic labs over the winter. Research projects include the development of a seismic research database, sensor improvements and seismic station calibration tools & procedures for Soviet-era seismometers that still reside in some of the seismic vaults of Siberia.
